New Twitter feature allows for Retweets with Comments on iOS

Currently available for just iOS at this time, your retweet count includes basic retweets and retweets with comments. This Twitter feature makes it possible to see the difference between the two within the details of a tweet. Android users can expect to receive this feature at a later date.

What does this mean for you and your brand?

Prior to this change, Twitter counted a retweet with a comment to be its own tweet so it hasn’t been counted in your overall retweet count. Despite some people thinking this a bug on the platform, it wasn't because Twitter saw a retweet with a comment as different form of engagement when compared to a regular retweet.

You can potentially see an increase in tweet engagement. This change also means that additional retweets are added to your total count which will also cause you to see an uptick in overall statistics. On the other hand, how you engage on Twitter will still be the same.
