On Monday, May 4th, we hosted a free Zoom workshop on “How to improve your social media marketing in less than 24 hours”. Here’s the link to watch the full video which includes our Q&A session addressing the problems our attendees have been dealing with:
Key takeaways
This Zoom workshop we held was created as a result of the social media audits we did for different Utah businesses during April 2020. The Coronovirus pandemic made more business owners realize the importance of building an online brand so we offered to help anyone who wanted their social media channels reviewed. We addressed the most common problems we noticed while conducting the audits. Here are the key takeaways we focused on:
Filling out our About section/bio: Part of getting discovered on social media is making sure you have your contact information and description listed on platforms like Facebook. Make it easy for people to connect with you and learn more about how you can provide value for them.
Responding to all of your comments, direct messages, and reviews: A huge part of social media success is being social. Prove that you’re listening to your fans by listening and responding. Set aside at least five minutes a day to engage with your followers. You’ll be able to build a strong community by doing so.
Posting consistently: If you’ve been consuming our content for over a year now, you know how much of an emphasis we place on consistency. You can’t build a brand if you don’t show up on a regular basis. In the Zoom call, we recommend using social media tools like Buffer, Facebook Creator Studio, and Sprout Social to help you get the job done. Using scheduling software allows you to be more strategic in your marketing efforts. You are also able to manage your time more effectively and frequently provide value to your target audience.
One thing to keep in mind is that all of the takeaways are free and easy to do. What they require of you is consistent, deliberate work to build your online presence. At the end of the day, success on social media is real and requires you putting in the time to figure out what works best for your business.
